Every term we get a cohort of wonderful Gap Year pupils who join us to help with the children.
Grace said: Since finishing my A levels back home in the UK, I plan to explore more of Kenya and adventure to Italy where I am completing a ski season in the Dolomites. In future I hope to pursue a career in events management.
Lochie said: I’m 19 years old, and enjoy playing golf, cricket and pádel. I’m off to study philosophy and theology at Edinburgh University. I have
two other brothers, one of whom was a Gapper at Pembroke before me. I like hunting and I have an interest in fossils and collected and found fossilised snakes and ammonites back at home. I need another pair of shoes (hopefully Lochie has been to mitumba and found some!).
From Onnee: Since completing my A-Levels I have been working at a television company, and am now really excited to have started my journey exploring Kenya. It’s been amazing experiencing the culture, the people, and the landscapes here. Next year, I’m hoping to take my travels even further with trips to Asia and New Zealand.
Jemima said: I have recently graduated from the University of Exeter with Degree in Geography. Since then, I have spent 6 months travelling across Africa, Asia and Oceania. I am loving my time in Kenya so far, and I look to forward to putting everything I’ve learnt here into becoming a teacher in the future.
Thank you so much to all our Gaps for their tremendous help!!
We are incredibly proud that Old Pembrokian, Major Thomas Mortensen was awarded an MBE this year.
The rolling hills of Gilgil came alive this past weekend as Pembroke House hosted the much-loved Ndume 7s Rugby Tournament, a highlight of Kenya’s prep school calendar that’s been inspiring young players since 1977.
