HOG CHARGE 2020!

Another year, another Hog Charge!

This year, we headed down to Peponi school with over a hundred excited children and their bikes…and helmets…and tents…and matresses…and barbeques…and suncream…and staff! We attended the Hog Charge bike race, where over 800 children cycled from checkpoint to checkpoint to raise money for Rhino Ark, who do valuable work protecting the ecosystems in the Aberdares. At each checkpoint they were met with snacks, drinks, and a chance to cool off, and, once again, Pembroke’s checkpoint was voted the best of the day. We had winning teams from the U14 boys and the U12 mixed gauntlet, and a couple of podium finishes for others. Treated to a huge barbeque and a wonderful night’s camping before the event, the day ran smoothly, and we all returned happy, muddy and exhausted on Sunday evening. Another amazing event for Pembroke House!
