Over the last couple of months at school, Year 4 have been busy making a memorial garden for our friend Al, who lost his life to cancer three months ago today. With the help of Mrs Aung, Ms Mwangi and our generous community members, the space has been transformed into a calm, tranquil space where children can come and sit, rest, think and relax. Take a look at the beautiful flowers and butterflies that bring colour and life to the space – with a special yellow butterfly resting on the bench.
This is still very much a work in progress, but we are so proud of our Year 4s for mucking in, getting their hands dirty, and making a beautiful tribute for a very special friend.
